CDE Headed to State Competition
The East Jackson Middle School Junior Nursery Landscape Career Development Team finished in first place in the Area 2 contest Thursday night and has qualified for the state competition. The members include Ada Johnson, who finished second overall, Anslee Bouchard (third overall), Emery Beauchamp (fourth overall) and Makaylah Renrick (seventh overall).
The team competed against other middle school and ninth grade teams from the area, demonstrating skill and dedication throughout the competition.
The Junior Nursery/Landscape CDE is designed to spark an interest in the nursery and landscape field for junior high students while preparing them for the more advanced high school-level competition. This event challenges participants in plant identification and a written exam covering fundamental horticulture knowledge.
