Welcome to the East Jackson Middle School Website!
At East Jackson Middle we serve approximately 570 students in 6th and 7th grade. Our teachers are committed to providing students with remarkable experiences everyday and they are all in for all kids. Students attending East Jackson Middle have many opportunities both during and after school. We offer a variety of sports for our athletics as well as opportunities for students interested in the arts. East Jackson Middle also has an active FFA club.
Parent involvement is important to our school and we welcome all volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please contact the school.
I am excited to be able to serve East Jackson Middle School and look forward to working with all students, parents, staff and community members.
I have spent 22 of my 28 years in education in Jackson County. I have served as teacher, coach, and assistant principal. Jackson County has been a great place to work and raise a family. It is a place committed to the success and welfare of all children.
East Jackson Middle School embodies that commitment. EJMS is filled with caring faculty and staff members and I am honored to serve with them as we strive to help all students succeed.
I enter the 2019-2020 school year with great anticipation, excitement, and expectation. Our school is focused on building relationships with students
In my 22 years at East Jackson Middle School, I have served as a teacher, reading and language arts department chair, instructional support teacher, instructional coach, and now assistant principal.
I am vested in this school and this community as a former Jackson County student myself, and now as a parent and educator. I can say in all honesty that I believe EJMS is a phenomenal school filled with quality teachers and amazing students!
Congratulations Mr. Derek Davis
Mr. Davis has been teaching for 23 years. He grew up in Lilburn, GA and received his doctorate from UGA in 2012. He began his career in education as a high school social studies teacher but became a special education teacher in 1999 and has spent his career working with students who have emotional and behavioral challenges. As someone who struggled in school as a child, he values having the opportunity to help those for whom school can be frightening and challenging. His favorite quote about learning is from Albert Einstein. “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” He tries to teach every child that they are important and have value. He wants them to know that their future is theirs to create.
